The Uptown Girl (Daytime Look)
First, apply a highlight cream foundation to the center of the face. Blend in a contour cream foundation to the outside of the face. Apply under-eye concealer where necessary, and set with yellow-based powder. Also, apply ash brown brow cream to the brows to make them stand out. Sweep a taupe brown eye shadow over the base of the eyelid, and apply a chestnut brown shadow over the lid to create depth to the eye. Also apply along the lower lash line. Apply a thin line of black eyeliner along the top lash line. Curl lashes and apply black mascara to top and bottom lashes.
What to look for
Asian women need to look out for foundation that has yellow undertones. These will enhance the natural colour of the Asian skin tone. Make-up for black or Caucasian skin has pink and red undertones, which are unsuitable for the Asian complexion resulting in a look that is either too orange or chalky and ghost-like.
Eye Beauty Tips for Asian Women
As many Asian women are exposed to fashion and beauty media aimed primarily at white Caucasian women, it is important to be aware of the subtle differences between the two although the beauty concepts are similar.
Appreciating the difference in skin, eyes and hair is essential to making the most of the natural and exotic beauty enjoyed by so many Asian Pacific women.
Graduating your eye makeup from your eyelash line to your eyebrow will help to give your eyes more depth. For this to look great, you should use the darkest shade along your eyelash line and merge this into lighter shades of color nearer your eyebrow.
For Asian skin tone it´s always good to use foundation and powder with a yellow undertone. Although many Asian women believe they need to wear pink makeup shades to counteract their natural skin tones, this creates a very unnatural, outdated look. Using yellow-based products do not make Asian women look more yellow, but rather they produce a natural, flawless look that is modern and beautiful.
Eyebrow, Eye Shadow, Eye Liner and Mascara
A number of Asian women experience thin or sparse eyebrows, prompting them to seek permanent eyebrow tattooing. However, Asian women should strive to create a more natural brow, unless tattooing is needed due to extreme sensitivity to cosmetics or improper motor skills. Choose a medium to dark brown sharpened eye pencil, apply feather strokes from the inner eyes toward the outer edges and blend with a clean eyebrow brush.
