Moisturize with Care
Nothing takes the moisture and softness out of skin faster than winter’s dry indoor heating and icy, face-chapping winds. Even if you pamper and protect your skin all year long, it needs a little extra attention when the temperatures begin to fall.
As the moisture level in the air drops, the dry air tries to rehydrate itself by borrowing moisture from your skin. When that happens, your body’s natural protective barrier, made of water, oils, and a protein called keratin, can get dehydrated to the point where your skin gets taut, wrinkly, cracked, and itchy.
Know Your Algae
FREE-FLOATING ALGAE (GREEN WATER). A free-floating alga signifies a gas problem, or a low oxygen/high carbon dioxide problem. Green water is prevalent during the first 90 days on pond balancing. The length of time depends on many variables such as weather, water chemistry, number of plants and fish, or the richness of your soil. Free-floating algae may also be present if nutrient value, usually in the form of fish food, is so high that the hair algae cannot develop properly.
HAIR ALGAE. Recognizable as big clumps of long, stringy algae. Hair algae is a result of too many nutrients in your pond. By physically removing the algae, you physically remove the excess nutrients. The most probable source of excess nutrients is fish food; build up of dead leaves or plant material in the bottom of the pond, and fertilizer or dirt drainage into the pond.
Mix equal quantities of lime juice, glycerin and rose water. This lotion if applied to the face regularly at bed time is very useful in removing pimples, blackheads and other stains of the skin. It makes the skin soft, and can also be applied to other parts of the body (hands, feet etc.)
Take 50 ml. of tomato juice and mix with one teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply this mixture to the face. It helps to make the skin soft and glowing. Take equal quantities of turmeric powder and wheat flour and make a paste with sesame oil. Apply it to the face to remove unwanted hair. Apply orange juice to the face for smooth and soft skin.

You do not need to rub really hard, the pressure should be firm but not painful. Watch for areas that are delicate or sensitive and be gentle. Dip you face cloth in the hot water, from time to time, to re-freshen it.
Sometimes, areas of you skin may get a little dry or fail to turn pink at all. Don’t give up at this point. When fat builds up below the surface of the skin, it becomes clogged and prevents the natural oils from flowing smoothly. As the fat breaks up, your skin will become smooth and silky to the touch.
