Development of Cellulite Condition

Cellulite is the bumpy and lumpy or dimpling appearance on your skin in areas like buttocks, thighs and hips, caused by extra fat deposited there. Cellulite can be orbital, that is affecting your face or just normal cellulite affecting your hips, buttocks, arms, back or thighs. Your abdomen is not safe from cellulite formation either. This condition usually affects, but is not limited to women.

Fat Cells and Development of Cellulite Condition

Your body stores food in its fat cells that are to be found underneath your skin in the subcutaneous layer. The fat cells work to absorb and act as stage for other components too, apart from food, for example toxins in our bloodstream. The natural process of absorption can be slow sometimes because of the fact that blood circulation and flow may not be optimal always in these fat cells. They therefore can increase due to accumulation of substances in them surpassing their normal size. When cellulite is formed on your body, it is normally because absorption of water and substances by your body fat cells is uneven – resulting in unevenness in appearance of the fat cells. Result on your skin surface is the coarse texture and unevenness or bumpy look that you experience. This is what we call cellulite. Cellulite orbital is a severe disease of tissues around the eyes affecting your eyelids, eyebrow and cheeks caused mainly by Hemohilus influenzae and sinus infection with other causes as staphylococcus aureus and streptococcus.

Causes of Cellulite

The tone of your skin, how your skin is structured and the rate of fat accumulation all shape cellulite development on your skin. Cellulite begins to form if your connective tissue under the skin that should normal assist in shaping the fat become weak or deformed due to poor circulation. These connective tissue that largely comprise of fibers serve as an anchor between your muscles and the skin forming chambers to hold Scarpus Fascia (body fat deposited under your skin). Any weakness in the connective tissue creates an imbalance that leads to Scarpus fascia looking for an escape route to the surface of your skin and that’s when you realize your skin is suddenly turning bumpy and uneven.

This process is worse if your blood and lymph flow is poor in your body for this is responsible for the build up of highly destructive free radicals in the tissue under your skin. This then blocks the fat from proper absorption into the blood system resulting in swellings due to excess fluids. Consequences are stretched connective tissue that leaves the irregular and dimpling appearance on the surface of your skin. Symptoms at this stage include thicker than normal skin with tenderness, broken veins, discoloration and  bruising easily.

Estrogen and Development of Cellulite

Cellulite affects women more than men. It is thought that cellulite development condition starts taking shape in adolescent girls because estrogen stimulates fat formation in the body enlarging the cells in the thighs and buttocks. This starts at age 14 progressing with age as the subcutaneous layer becomes thin and redistributed under the skin.

Other Causes

Cellulite can be formed on the skins of nursing mothers. The same applies to women on birth control pills. The reasoning here is that the body waste disposal system is unable to effectively handle increased estrogen levels in the body at the time. Trauma-inducing moments or injury normally where the blood circulatory system is disrupted, are very much likely to bring about cellulite. And take care of body by not sitting too much daily as this lack of movement is another cause in the development of cellulite condition. Poor eating habits, especially lots of fat, sugar, too much coffee and spicy foods increase your vulnerability to cellulite formation. Smoking is another cause particularly if you also eat badly.

Preventing Development of Cellulite Condition

Not all is gloom! You can take preventive measures by eating a well-balanced diet plenty in vegetables and whole grain. Exercises that improve your body’s circulatory mechanism as well as toning your skin and muscles, should be good ways of preventing the advent of cellulite.
