| Enjoy the Holidays with a Winter Makeup |
|
Winter is one of the most looked forward to seasons of the entire year. What with all that snow coming down and the Christmas day seemingly just inches away, everybody gets excited when winter time comes. But for some women who continue to lead busy lifestyles both at work and during social gatherings, the winter season can be a tough period to go through. The skin becomes exposed to the cold weather for such a long period that it causes a lot of changes to follow.
For starters, the skin gets dry rather easily than during other seasons. The cold climate makes it rather hard for the skin to process out its natural oils because the pores are always closed. Even if you have a normal skin, the pores tendency to close up because of the cold weather would eventually cause you to have dry skin because the oil gets stuck deep within. Therefore, winter becomes a time when people usually rely on moisturizers to keep their skin hydrated with oil. Now imagine if you have to wear makeup and you still have to put some moisturizer on your face. Surely that would be a lot to put up with.
Winter makeup can be tough to put up with. This is because there are lots of other factors which you should also think about. On top of it all, you must ensure that your skin does not become too dry while wearing your winter makeup. You should not just focus on the aesthetic results which it can bring nor should you just be concerned with how your makeup actually looks with that new outfit. What you should think of is how your makeup can withstand the cold temperature all throughout the time you will be wearing it.
There are also certain preparations which you must first do before you proceed with doing your winter makeup. Of course, you should ensure first that you have a very clean face prior to it on so it is highly advised that you wash your face first before wearing a winter makeup. But when washing the face, you should use lukewarm water instead to help open up the pores. You no longer need to wash off with cold water because of the current temperature. You need to open up your pores so that your skin can excrete out its natural oils and be able to observe the moisturizers you will be putting on it.
When it comes to the makeup itself, winter makeup also needs to follow some specific types and makeup strategies. You can use some sheen for your eye makeup application as well as for the lips to transform it to a look you want. Sheen colors also help make your lips more voluptuous and this is something you would find very useful. The cold climate of the winter usually wears out the lips and makes them appear thinner than they actually are.
It would also be good that all makeup which will be directly applied on the skin such as eye shadow, foundation, blush, and powder would have a matte-base of moisturizing ingredients. This is because such base clings more onto the skin especially during cold weather conditions and also appears to look more natural.
You should also purchase makeup which still contains sunscreen and SPF. Although it’s cold, that doesn’t mean that the sun won’t be shining down brightly and would especially strike upon your face. So don’t just get caught up in using moisturizers. Remember that sunscreen is still very important especially if you will be spending a lot of time outdoors and you will be exposed under the direct sun during say time.
You should also remember to use eyeliner whenever you put some eye makeup on. Your eyes can have the tendency to appear too puffy during the winter season so you can even it out by means of an eye liner. Also, you would also need to put some blush on because your ski would typically look pale all throughout winter. |
