Makeup will not entirely be possible if not for the various make up tools available nowadays. More than just a case of applying some color here and there, makeup also has different mediums of application. 1. Sponge – This tool is necessary for reaching hard to reach spots on the face like the skin under between the nose and the upper lip and the skin between the eyes and the bridge of the nose. The sponge is very easy to grip and can be folded flexibly due to its soft yet rubbery nature. In addition, a sponge also collects makeup colors effectively without accidentally spilling off before applying them on the face. But once the sponge is rubbed onto the face, the color immediately blends onto the skin.
2. Brush – A makeup brush pretty much looks like a painter brush, but the main difference is that the hair bristles found onto the edge of a makeup brush are larger than that of a painter’s brush. It is also said that the recommended size for the bristles of a makeup brush is approximately 2 ½ inches. In addition, makeup brushes must also be soft and gentle enough to be placed in contact with the face’s skin. The length of the brush’s handle actually depends on its use. For makeup brushes used for the cheeks (application of foundation or powder) those with longer handles are preferred. On the other hand, smaller brushes are used for application of eye shadow.
3. Eyelash Curler – This is a very basic makeup tool for the eyes. Even without eye shadow or the application of mascara, the eyes can stand become highlighted effectively and shine out through the use of an eyelash curler. This particular tool typically looks like a pair of scissors. But contrary to a real scissors’ form, the edges of an eyelash curler meet together and are shaped to fit the contours of the eyelashes. What happens is that the eyelash on each eye is merely curled in between the edges and therefore becomes curled after a few minutes of pressing.
4. Tweezers – Another essential makeup tool for the eyes is a pair of tweezers. This helps pluck out unsightly eyebrow growth which is not aligned with the current contour of the eyebrows. It is very necessary to keep the natural shape of the eyebrows so that the beauty of the eyes can fully stand out. In addition to just the eyes, a well shaped eyebrow also highlights the entire feature of the face. 5. Mirror – Any makeup kit without a good facial mirror would be useless. Of course, how will you be able to see your face while grooming it? Nowadays, even makeup kits become equipped with their very own mirrors so that women would not forget putting them into their kits anymore. A good makeup mirror does not really have to be too fancy, too heavy, or even too technical. All it needs to be like is that it would be able to reflect the entire face once you look through it.
