The Proper Way How to Apply Bindi Makeup

Applying Bindi makeup on the face is a cultural aspect and not just a fashion accessory among Hindu women. The Bindi actually depicts a certain historical as well as cultural significance. Basic guidelines have always been followed when it comes to learning how to apply Bindi among women of a relative society. Generally, a Bindi is made up of a series of dots placed all on the wearer’s forehead and may also be spread throughout the body as well. Usually, how to apply Bindi no longer becomes an issue because nowadays there are self-stick Bindi dots which can already be availed for a faster application process.

In India, Bindi is actually considered to be personalized jewel being worn by Indian women. The Bindi initially represents the divine eye or what we commonly known now as rhe “third eye.” Women who wore a Bindi felt more powerful than those who don’t. This is because it is believed that wearing a Bindi has something to do with acquiring divine powers and other mystic abilities which may have otherwise been lost already through time. It is placed onto the forehead because this is the part of the body which is typically believed as the gateway towards the human soul.

A Bindi used to be shaped basically as round and colored as red. However, modern day times have made the Bindi makeup evolve and so it can now be worn in various shapes and even colors depending on the wearer’s taste. Up to this day, Indian women continue to wear them for the same mystical and religious purpose. But apart from that, it is also belived that wearing a Bindi attracts financial and business prosperity. The Bindi’s color for this is maroon.

If you are interested to wear one, there are some things which you must first consider before learning up on how to apply Bindi makeup. First of all, it is not advisable to be worn by those who have sensitive skin or are prone to different skin allergies. Usually, the Bindi is made out of some vermilion powder and is typically soft in texture. It is also known to contain zinc oxide as its active ingredient. This is blended in and mixed using only the fingertips so that the color and the desired tone can be easily controlled. For those who are not yet a professional makeup artist or would like to try Bindi, it is advisable that a ready mix is already purchased because blending the colors is difficult and done mostly by professionals only.

Before applying Bindi, you should first make sure that your face is clean and free from other skin agents. You should also not wear any other makeup apart from the Bindi itself. This is especially important even if you are just going to use the Bindi stick-on so that the product will stick onto your skin for a longer period of time. Apart from this, having no other makeup on your skin ensures you that no dangerous chemical mixups would develop right on your skin and produce skin breakouts and even rashes.

In addition, you should also be mindful of wearing or applying a Bindi with no children around you. The Bindi contains small parts and looks fairly interesting as a mixture which these children may dip into or put inside their mouths without you seeing them. The Bindi stick-on can definitely become a choking hazard for small kids because of its relatively small size. In addition, the makeup compound of Bindi makeup mixtures are likewise hazardous due to its chemical content and can cause dangerous potential when swallowed even in small amounts.

Nowadays, women can finally enjoy wearing Bindi makeup regardless of their cultural or even religious background. Bindi is becoming more and more appreciated not just in the field of history but also as a very interesting aesthetical medium. Women can also apply them in various shapes and other artistic methods.
