Applying Eyeliner and The Necessities

Eyeliner is one of the most used eye makeup there is. It serves to accentuate the eyes with all those eye shadow and even some eye mascara on. Because the eyeliner is being applied onto a very delicate part of the face, the eyes, it should be noted that applying eyeliner must be taken with utmost care. Eyeliner also comes in many different types, with each type having a specialization which can be enjoyed for different purposes. Before you go about applying eyeliner, it is important to get yourself acquainted with the different types of eyeliner first.

An eyeliner is generally applied on the base part of the eyelashes. This is one of the most important things which must be remembered when it comes to choosing the type of eyeliner which you will be using. Eyeliners come in different forms such as cake eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, and the most popular—the pencil eyeliner. For each of these types, it is important to learn how applying eyeliner can vary according to its texture. Since you will be dealing with different base forms, different application strategies would also follow.

Liquid eyeliner is the most recommended among the types of eyeliner because they are the easiest and therefore the safest to use. This is because they should only be applied on to of the eyelashes and then you’re good to go. Liquid eyeliner is usually packaged within a bottle and comes equipped with an application brush. The package is somewhat similar to that of an ink. However, you should be very precise and very accurate when you are applying eyeliner which is of this type. Also, you should let the liquid eyeliner dry first before you can finally blink or open your eyes to prevent it from smudging.

The pencil eyeliner is the most commonly used. As the name implies, this looks like a little colored pencil and also needs to be sharpened when the tip can no longer color. However, this should only be sharpened to reveal the colored part of the pencil’s tip and not until it is as sharp as a writing pencil’s edge. Still, regular sharpening is recommended to ensure that any bacteria build-up will be rid off. But with a pencil eyeliner, you should be very careful when applying it onto your lower eyelashes edge so that tissues would not be pulled in the process. With a pencil eyeliner, you should begin applying it onto the inner corner of each eye. You can also apply both on the upper and the lower part of the eyelashes when you choose to use a pencil eyeliner. You should also care to use the lightest one between your hands so that you won’t put too much force on your skin while you’re applying the pencil eyeliner.

In both types, you should care to apply the eyeliner after you have already applied the eye shadow. While you are applying the eyeliner, you should also hold your head back and face up unto the mirror as you look down. This will make your eyelids tighter and help make it easier for you to apply some eyeliner on. This can also help you control the application of eyeliner all the more. Sometimes, it may be necessary to smudge your eyeliner so that it will reach the creases and corners of your eyes. But if you choose to do so, make sure that you have it totally controlled or else it might end up in a completely disastrous look.

Applying eyeliner can also help you create an illusion for your eyes. If you wan to make them appear bigger than they actually are, you should apply the eye liner right underneath your lower eyelashes. You can also apply a lighter shade when it comes to eye shadow makeup so that you can help bring out the glow and inner beauty of your eyes as you finish your eye makeup with an eyeliner.
