Tips to Remember When Applying Blush

Blush is one of the most difficult things which can be applied onto the face. Actually, it can be applied with or without the whole makeup. If you want to just apply some blush on your face without having to deal with all the other makeup fuss you can actually do this. All you have to think about is how you would apply the blush on your face and what particular type of blush should you use. But if you want to really have a more natural looking cheek glow, you may have to stick with going on all the hassles to achieve your desired look.

Some people are just blessed with having a naturally blushing face. The real purpose of applying blush is the fact that it helps the face appear more youthful because of that pinkish tint which can be found upon the apples of the cheeks. Sometimes, people can actually do away without eye makeup, so long as you have some blush on. It is also preferred nowadays that blush on is just paired with lip gloss instead of the usual lip stick. Some people also just pair their blush with a lip liner if they have naturally full looking lips. It is also amazing to see just how the blush can even affect the look of the eyes and make them appear brighter than they are or they currently seem to be.

The first thing you need to remember prior to applying blush is choosing the right color. Of course, if you do not have naturally blushing and pinkish cheeks you would have no other choice but to apply some blush makeup. This can actually work to your advantage because at present, blush on colors are not just limited to the pinkish shade. If you want a more matured or more serious look, blush shades also come in brown tones. This is often preferred by medium to dark skin types. For those who have fair to light complexion, pink of course remains a popular choice while some can also opt for orangey shades and can also help produce a youthful glow.

After being able to choose the perfect color for your blush, the next thing you needed to consider is the type of blush which you will get. Applying blush becomes tricky because of the texture and the finish of the blush product. There are many different types and each of these types are not just beneficial in terms of application and blending on the cheeks but they are also specialized to fit different skin types. Generally, there are four different types of blush which you can choose from.

1.    Powder Blush – This type of blush is what you can commonly find in makeup stores and also popularly manufactured by well-known makeup brands. The thing with powder blush is that they are known to be long lasting and is very easy to control while you are applying it. But the important thing which you should remember when it comes to this particular type, applying blush also becomes synonymous with applying foundation. This is usually applied best by means of a good makeup brush.

2.    Gel Blush – The claim to fame of this particular blush type is the fact that it can result to a more translucent shine. In addition, this is also highly recommended for those who have normal to oily skin. Another feature of gel blushes is that they can simply be applied through the use of your fingertips. They easily dry upon application and can also last for hours.

3.    Cream Blush – This type of blush is generally thicker than most blush types. This is also best suited for dry skin because it also contains moisturizing ingredients and its creamy texture makes it easy for the skins absorption.

4.    Tint Blush – This is the type of blush which you can apply without foundation. Even for a quick touch-up, you can freely apply a tint blush. This is also known as a “cheek stain” because of the pinkish tint which it leaves on the apples of your cheeks. They are also known to last throughout the day so you don’t have to reapply them that often. However, it should be applied with care because you cannot blend this out easily and it also dries easily once it reaches the skin’s surface.
