| Kid’s Hair Accessories: Style her perfect! |
|
I glanced down at my daughter and sighed she needed some hair accessories. Her hair had been lengthening and was now beginning to need hair ties. So, I did a little bit of shopping for kid’s hair accessories.
The “hair glove” was the first type of hair accessory for kids that appeared. This was a small piece of cloth and elastic which was sewn into a circle and wrapped around a pony tail. It served the function of not falling off and keeping the hair together better than a conventional scrunchy (which slip out often and must be reapplied). These came in various colors of glittering material, including pink, purple, black, gray, and white. It also came in various styles of denim with catchy sayings or phrases such as “Girls Rule.”
The next kid’s hair accessories presented were snaps. The small little clips were shaped like teddy bears, flowers, and butterflies, sandals, or just straight clips in various colors and sizes and could be used to snap part of the children’s hair back from their face or even most, depending on the thickness of the child’s hair.
There were also small hair bands. These came in various colors or pink, red, and black, and had a snap on the top. These snaps connected to whichever design the child chose to wear. The tops could be bought and switched at will, allowing a simple way to have many different clips for little girls without having to buy copious amounts of clips and risk losing them.
Next was a ponytail cover, coupled with a built in hair band to tie the hair back. These nifty little kid’s hair accessories were used to cover the tie of pony tails, keeping them in place. The hair tie connected to the pony tail cover was to be tied around the hair and then the pony tail cover was to be wrapped around and snapped together, securing the band. They looked much like the hair gloves, only smaller (only an inch) and a bit less noticeable, although still sufficiently decorated for any little girl. These came in various colors: blue, gray, black, or even red.
I then found kids hair accessories that I was particularly fond of: head bands. These were useful because they were easy to use and let the children have a sense of beauty without the hassle of waiting for their mothers to fumble with small clips. There were some with bows, in various colors, that were particularly cute, the bow hanging just over the right eye, though farther up on the head. There were also some headbands in bright colors which seemed to be woven together and be put on the child’s hair easily. These were also guaranteed to stay on, as they fit snugly to the child’s head and so would not easily be dislodged.
For little girls’ birthdays, they often enjoy the hair accessory called a comb. These are generally in the shape of small tiaras and the comb’s ends carefully but firmly hook into the child’s hair. Allowing the child to dress up like a princess but still be able to run around in her excitement.
Another type of kid’s hair accessories are small hair barrettes. There are many types of these. They can be flower shaped, apple shaped, or even geometric shapes. Most of these genrally have small clips on the back of about 1.5 inches and are about 1.5 inches wide and will work on fine hair, since they are designed for toddlers or young children. These are generally sparkly, as these styles often amuse small children, and hook into the little girl’s hair securely. These are great because they can be applied in any style that the child in dressed. They go well with jeans or casual ware as well as formal wear and dresses. The perfect child’s accessory!
