Minoxidil

Minoxidil  is the first drug that was used to treat men and women for hair loss and still is used today. It comes in two forms and that is oral and topical. The oral Minoxidil is used to treat high blood pressure while the topical Minoxidil is used to treat baldness and hair loss. It\'s also know by the name Rogaine in the United States.  Minoxidil still is considered the best solution to baldness and is used more than any other drug on the market today.

Oral minoxidil can lead to increase heart rate and a fall in blood pressure and weight gain. these are some things that you should know before taking the drug. Absorption of the oral Minoxidil can lead to side effects so always remember that before deciding if you are going to use it.

Things To Remember before Using Minoxidil

Never let children under the age of 18 years of age use this unless prescribed by a doctor. Children who are allowed to take it should be monitored very carefully in case side effects occur. Don\'t take Minoxidil if you have used petrolatum, Corticosteroids, and Tretinoin. These chemicals don\'t mix and bad results could happen if they are used together.

Minoxidil is not considered during breast feeding as it can be passed through the milk and hurt the baby. If you are allergic to things you should tell your health care provider so they can better see if it\'s a good fit for you. It won\'t do you any good if it does more harm to you than good.

Always follow doctors orders when prescribed. Don\'t use it for any use than the intended use. It shouldn\'t be applied to other parts of the body just the intended one. Overdose of this product can happen so don\'t do it. It will also have a adverse effect on skin products so this must also be considered when using this product.

Applying Minoxidil

There are some rules about applying Minoxidil that you need to be familiar with so you can get the best possible results. After applying the medicine do not shampoo your hair for at least four hours. if you do than it will cause adverse actions and you will not get the full effect of it\'s use. A good rule is to wait 4-5 hours before shampooing to be on the safe side.

Make sure the hair and scalp are dry before applying the solution. This gives it the best chance of working and working well. If your hair and scalp is wet it won\'t take hold like it would if it was dry.

Wash your hands off immediately after use. You don\'t want this on your hands any longer than it has to be. It can get through your skin and you don\'t want that. Don\'t use your hair dryer either on your head after applying. It will take away from the effectiveness of the product. Keep the medicine away from eyes, nose, and mouth. What ever you do don\'t rub your yes with it on your hands.

Final Thoughts

Minoxidil is one of the best products out their right now for hair loss regrowth that we have. Many imitations have come along, but this still does a very effective job on the process of growing hair. Many people think that it will happen overnight and that is just not true it takes time so give it time and you should see results. It doesn\'t work for everyone, but the majority of the people it will work for so keep that in mind.

Always follow the label directions and only use it as it\'s intended to. It\'s a powerful medicine if used wrong can cause some damage so keep that in mind when you are using it. Minoxidil is one of the few products that delivers for hair loss and I don\'t see that changing anytime soon.
