| Electrolysis |

“Stupid hair,” I muttered, staring into the mirror. I had always had a hormonal problem that caused hair to grow on my face, giving me the shadow of a mustache, (which I surely didn’t want!) and an altogether disgusting look.
I’d done some hunting for a medicine of some sort that could relieve this problem and finally I found something altogether different! Electrolysis! This was a way to be rid of hair forever with just a few visits to the professionals.
Of course, I had already thought of the more usual methods, such as waxing, shaving, or using a cream of some sort. Unfortunately, I’d found that most creams were not recommended for facial usage (which was rather unhelpful) and I didn’t much enjoy shaving my face. As for waxing, well, I wasn’t sure that I wanted to undergo that particular pain.
I researched some of the facts about electrolysis and found some interesting information. Electrolysis was performed by a professional who used an epilator to destroy the growth center of a hair with a low radio frequency and then they used a pair of tweezers to pull out the hair. This was also said to very rarely hurt, but merely tingle a little, which made me happier, because I am very adverse to pain!
The amount of times that I would have to return was not guaranteed, but I found out that usually it was once every other week and that the sessions would be anywhere from fifteen to sixty minutes long. That wasn’t bad at all! I had been afraid that I would have to spend inordinate amounts of time for electrolysis, so I was delighted to find that I was wrong. I did have other things that I needed to do, rather than devote all my time to physical appearance. I could manage these sessions.
I was very happy to find another fact about electrolysis as well. There were no lasting effects, other than the permanent hair removal on the chosen part of the body of course. I might have a temporary redness of the skin after a treatment, but it would not remain for very long. I would have no scars, no long-lasting burns, nothing! That sounded heavenly compared to my current situation!
I found a few places that said that they performed electrolysis and asked to meet the person who would perform this on me. I was supremely dissatisfied by two of them. The doctors were dirty, no one wore plastic gloves, and the institutions had a dirty look as it was, as if there had been no sanitation of the facilities for an extended period of time. I didn’t think it would be safe to have my electrolysis done there as it seemed very possible that I could obtain some form of infection because of dirty tools or even cheated by something called “electrolysis” but truly being something else.
The last one that I went to, on the other hand, was perfect! It was clean, the doctor was professional, and most of the staff that I saw was wearing gloves. I felt that it would be quite safe to come here for my treatments.
I asked him for a consultation, in which I asked him many questions that I had about electrolysis, some just a solidification of what I already knew such as the amount of pain that I would endure (he assured me there would be none) and the amount of times that I’d have to attend (he once again confirmed my research, saying once every other week). He showed me the tools that he used and I was relieved to see that it was the right kind, the needle rather than electric tweezers or some other such scam.
I went to the electrolysis doctor five times and guess what? It worked! My face is now hair-free; no more mustache for me! I feel so much more feminine now and it didn’t cause me any pain! What could be better?
