Eat the right food for your bodybuilding program  


One of the world’s renowned therapists is quoted as having said; ‘Man is only what he eats.  Just like the quality of the omelet depends on the quality of the egg, the quality of your body is no better than the food you eat.  If you want to be a lion, look no further – simply eat a lion.”
Funny statements! Aren’t they?  But did you know that despite the language used, the whole analysis is correct?  The truth of the matter is that all aspects of our health and livelihood depend on what we eat.  This is even true when it comes to bodybuilding.  We can now hear of bodybuilding nutrition.  Yes, be it true as it sounds – what does the bodybuilding nutrition look like and why should one observe it?

What it is and what it is not

Some things are not as obvious as they look.  If they were, you would need to eat stones to be strong!  But make no mistake; this is not a comic argument.  The gist of the matter is that the right bodybuilding nutrition is not just as obvious – the more reason you need to read more of this.

For one to be successful with their bodybuilding program, it is very important that they observe the right nutrition.  So let us look at what could be the right nutrition for this purpose;
The most basic of all this is to observe a balanced diet.  This means one should eat foods rich in proteins, vitamins, carbohydrates and fats.  Particularly, there is need to reduce on the amount of fatty foods consumed, increase consumption of whole grains, fruits and greens.  Drinking plenty of water is also very important.

In addition to the above foods, it is important to note that observance of the right bodybuilding nutrition demands taking meals at the right time and in the right amounts.  It is generally accepted that one should not eat less than two meals a day and no more than four meals a day.

Eating four meals a day is the optimal advice in relation to bodybuilding – not withstanding the fact that this is not absolutely strict.  However, the bottom line in all this is that one should eat the right amount of food at the right time in relation to individual tastes and abilities.

Having seen the right nutrition to support your bodybuilding, it is important to understand why you need to observe that kind of nutrition…

Why a bodybuilding nutrition?

‘Some things are better left unexplained.  They are just obvious.  Why for crying out loud do you need to explain to me the reason I must eat?’ asked a young woman whose husband was urging her to eat.  We find ourselves in the same scenario here but as pointed out earlier, nothing should be taken for granted, especially with bodybuilding where you do not need to make any mistake.

The truth is that you need to observe the right bodybuilding nutrition because your health and other body processes largely depend on the food you eat.  As agreed earlier, you can never be better than what you eat.

The other reason you need to observe bodybuilding nutrition is to avoid surprises.  Taking the right food puts you in charge of your health.  The old adage that ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ is as true as it could ever be in this particular aspect.  Keeping track of the food you eat means that if you want to increase or cut on weight, you can do it with relative easy.  You do not need to rely on prayer alone!  Eat the right food to create the right body!

Therefore, there is more cause for alarm.  All one needs is to eat the right food at the right time in the right amounts and bodybuilding will be as easy as counting one to three.
