Preparing to propose to the women of your dreams can be a surreal experience. You want to make sure that moment is perfect from the moment you pick out that perfect ring to the moment you are down on bended knee; looking your beloved in the eye and telling her that you want to spend the rest of your life with her. True love does not need a ring to show how much you care, but a ring is a nice touch to show that you are serious and you want her to cherish and remember every moment of the day when you said those infamous words “will you marry me?” I know it is tough for the guys to pick out the perfect engagement ring these days. I remember when the classic engagement ring was a solid piece of 14 or 18k and a 2 carat diamond solitaire setting. Times have changed tremendously, now women have a sense of personal style and fashion sense that engagement rings no longer need to be diamonds. There are people who have or would like their engagement rings to be sapphires, rubies, even pearls, and they don’t have to be on your standard 18k gold ring, there is now white gold, platinum, and silver that one can choose from, when picking out their engagement ring. There are also different cuts and styles of rings, like the emerald cut or the pear shape, each woman will have their own personal style so the emerald cut would not appeal to some women and vice versa for the pear shape.
Choosing an engagement ring can be a very difficult and time consuming process, especially for a nervous guy that probably does not know what he is doing. So my suggestion is sneak out with one of her girlfriends, of course in a good way. So her girl friend can help you buy that perfect ring.
When searching for that perfect ring, you most likely can find the best of the best rings at your local jeweler or you can do an internet search. However it is recommended when searching for an engagement ring that you actually go to the jewelry store, especially if you are planning to buy a diamond, so you can get the cut shape feel and size of he diamond that you are buying. The four C’s are always essential to remember when purchasing a diamond which is known as the Carat weight, Clarity, color and cut. You should work with a well known jeweler or a diamond expert that will be able to give you their strongest opinion on the design you choose for your lover.
